The term ‘template leadership’ is my own connotation, and I came to that conclusion based on my different direct observations of people in leadership positions, what I have read in newspapers and magazines, and seen or heard on broadcast media, or trends on social media. Wherever I have noticed template leadership, it just follows the same pattern independent of where you find it, who applies it, or who designs it. To understand fully what I mean by template leadership, I would first explain what template is. I got this definition from TechTarget website, and it says, ‘A template is a form, mould, or pattern used as a guide to making something, and examples are ruler when used to draw a straight line, a document in which the standard opening and closing parts are already filled that you can copy and then fill in the variable parts, etc.’ In other words,…

There  is no motivation, independent of its strength and its power to superbly persuade, that you’ve never heard. One way or the other, it’s been said to you, or spoken using different channels or rhetoric. And nothing will be spoken tomorrow and beyond that you’ve never also heard. The difference between where you are and where you feel you should be is action. Every chain will lock your feet. Every wall will stand in your way. Every sea will spring from beneath to stop you, but what impediments don’t have the power to do is to determine your doggedness to beat the odds. Your success is your resolve. It will never be easy, has never been and must never be. Champions emerge by overcoming the impossible. So stop wailing behind the high walls – step into the cold and show you have the effrontery to challenge the bests. No fidgeting…

When it comes to assets, what most people consider valuable are the tangible ones, especially when it is pecuniary in nature. The intangible assets that don’t produce instant physical results are disrespected, disregarded or considered not to be called assets by the generality of people. Why I don’t blame such ignorant reasoning is because I was once like that. As a hardcore science person, I once wondered why universities offered some so called humanity courses; I simply felt it was a waste of useful resources. In my rigid thinking, I assumed what isn’t seen shouldn’t be given much attention, until I began to notice how the unseen affects the seen. The causes of certain mental health challenges are unseen but the roles psychologists, sociologists, anthropologists, and many more play to bring sanity to those who need it is immense. If they weren’t there, our world would be chaotic. Climbing a…

Your position today, wasn’t different from yesterday, because you did nothing to make it different. And if you continue to do nothing today, tomorrow won’t just remain like today, but will also have a resemblance with yesterday. Change comes when you raise your game. If your input level is the same all year, don’t expect a change because you will continue to get the same result. What will help you raise your game are as follows: Managing your weaknesses: Just like impurities cover treasures, weaknesses also cover strengths. In your weakness is hidden, a massive strength. Those who say they can’t do it can actually do it beyond our imaginations. Their inabilities to do it are empowered by the words, ‘I can’t’. There is great speed hidden in a sloth; only discipline can bring it out of him. Whatever you want to do, you can actually do. You’ve not done it…

I am sometimes overwhelmed by so many opportunities that surround us particularly in the past ten years, especially, the advent of the internet. The coming of the internet has turned the world around, and has reshaped the way we communicate and do business. The social media would have been non-existent if the internet wasn’t available. The world has become a global village, as we, within seconds, are able to interact and pass information speedily to one another. The networking technology has created massive opportunities for anyone who can take advantage of the positives, and use it to advance his skills, connections, income, and much more. Due to the internet, you have the ability to link up with business partners you’ve never met, do some deals with them, and make your money, while continuing to maintain your quiet life and privacy. In the yore, it was a different story. Today, I…

Time is evolutionary. Where it was yesterday, isn’t where it is today. Another factor that is evolutionary is taste. The taste of yesterday’s fashion style isn’t what it is today. The world, as it moves in constant circular motion, also comes with various changes. If things change, and you refuse to either change or adapt, you will be caught in the web of only existing in history, while there is still breath in your nostrils. If time and taste can change; situations, circumstances and positions also can. Where you were yesterday, can be different from where you will be today, if you understand how to aggressively reposition. What it takes is for you to assess your status and look for opportunities that will help you take the next step upward. When you identify those opportunities, boldly work on them without an iota of doubt. Believe in where you’re going. Never…

When I launched my blog; www.successinks.com, one decision I made was to consistently use it to motivate and inspire people to challenge themselves to greater heights. Based on that decision, I diligently brainstorm on different topics that I think will add value to my followers. Sometimes, it’s not easy to come up with something that isn’t repetitive because what forms the basis of your message is your vision statement. So, in whatever you write, unconsciously, your core value keeps appearing in-between the lines of your script. For over two weeks, I wanted to put something substantial on the blog. The more I tried, the more multi-fragmented topics and information kept barraging my mind. The notebook on my phone was inundated with splintered information, as it is my culture to jot down any idea that flies through my head. In spite of not being yet, where I want to be, I…

A few weeks ago, I had the title of this article in mind, and my first instinct was to just put it down, and publish. But for a number of years now, I have learnt one lesson; I don’t always go by first instinct. I think through things before I put down things. Even if I have a few minutes to make a decision, I still think through in order to find valuable reasons why I am taking the action or making the decision. I woke up this Christmas morning to ponder on the past, and look into the future. Some mistakes have been made; some lessons also learnt. For many years, I have felt stuck. I have the will to do more. My dream is to help humanity. To reach out to the dying and like SEAL, say a Prayer for the Dying. My hunger had and will always…

When flying to a long distance country, most often, you transit on another country, either for the pilots to take a short rest, or for the airline to reconnect you with another flight. Transiting does not make you a permanent resident of that nation. It is only a stopover. On some stopovers, you are given the opportunity to go for sightseeing in order to kill the boredom of waiting for God knows, how many hours. Some countries of transit may look more beautiful than your destined intent, but that doesn’t stop you from continuing with your journey when it’s time to go. If your flight leaves you behind as you go window shopping, you’ll mourn, wail and blame yourself for being so unconscious. You don’t jubilate for being abandoned where your original destination isn’t. Anyone with a vision is on a long distance journey. This journey is full of transit…

Besides sports, another program I enjoy watching on television is animal documentaries. I can sit down in front of the TV for hours watching behaviorisms of animals because it teaches you the root and essence of nature. Many times, as I watch these documentaries, I get inspired. I don’t only get inspired; it also brings me into a better understanding of life and how nature responds to it. This article was inspired by one of those documentaries. On the National Geographic Wild channel, I watched a documentary on the Mamba snake. The Mamba snake is a predator that kills and swallows other animals. In color and other physical appearances, except you are a Biologist that specializes on snakes, you won’t be able to tell the differences between the male and female mamba. But among the mambas, they know who is who. What really amazed me about this documentary was when…
