As I looked through my electronic jotter to see what to write in order to update my blog, I saw where I wrote down a number of topics and points. I usually, on my way to work or any intended destination never keep my mind blank. I enjoy pondering on issues of interest as I commute, rather than leave my mind empty for silly bedbugs to infest. Sometimes, I am in want of something to write as inspiration doesn’t usually and always surface when you need it, and at some other times, you have so much to write that you wonder when you’ll be able to finish. At this particular time, there was so much to put down because all through the period of redesigning Success Inks website, no article update was done; instead, what should be published were written in bits and pieces of notes. I have looked at…

Every human sets goals consciously or unconsciously. If you decide to walk from Point A to Point B, Point B is obviously your set goal. If a woman decides on a Monday morning that come Saturday, she will do a major shopping, the major shopping becomes the set goal. Without stress, on that Saturday morning, she will go to the supermarket and do her shopping. At the end of the shopping, her goal is achieved. If goal setting comes naturally with one’s area of strength, it becomes easy to attain. Most women love to shop, and so, it goes with their nature. When something is natural, it is self determined. Self determination comes from within. In spite of the above said, I would like to point out that there are people who disobey nature, and therefore, do not conform. When nature prompts you to do something, and you disobey over…

As the year comes to an end, goal setters are beginning to look back to assess what 2015 was like. The statistics will determine if it’s been successful, static, or retrogressive. The outcome of the assessment becomes the baseline for setting next year’s goals. In addition to baseline, it tells you what and what should be done. And as individuals, families, and companies have their Christmas and end of year parties, behind the fun, there’s rumination resonating in the heads of business-minded people and leaders. The written and unwritten data are staring them in the face, reminding them of the realities of what the year has been like. These realities will inform their decisions on the actions to take to make the coming year worth celebrating. To assess the achievements of 2015, asking yourself the following questions will bring you to a logical conclusion. 1. What were the goals?: It…

Success is achieved by how much focus you have. When the going is fine, you need to be focused, and when it isn’t going well, your need for focus is even more required. Most times, focus can be boring and lonely especially when the good results haven’t started pouring in, but that is the discipline you need to make things happen. That lonely road is the only way to repositioning. The pains to focus when your expectation isn’t what you’re getting takes a lot of inner conviction and determination. Without a made-up mind and the will to keep the wheel going, you won’t only be distracted, you’ll be frustrated. The difference between an eventual winner and a loser is focus. If you know what you want, where you want it, and how to get it, you must keep your eyes on that target. You must learn to despise what distracts…

A night before writing this article, I was in the studio section of a conference airing a live television programme. My reason for being there was because I couldn’t get a seat in the main hall as it was jam packed. While there, I began to notice and learn some life changing principles. I totally believe that principles are the laws of change; so I always embrace them when I find them. As I sat behind the Mixing Engineer, there was one word he kept repeating in almost every statement as he communicated with the Cameramen. I would hear him say, ‘Camera one, improve your focus. Camera two, your focus is blurred, zoom out. Camera three, focus on the man with the white shirt’. All through the programme, it was focus, focus, and focus.  What is focus? Focus is the central point of attraction, attention, and activity; focus is the…
